Ebb and Flow
04:08
|
|||
It’s the ebb and flow,
Just the way life goes.
When you’re feeling low,
You rise again.
One small move you make,
Picture you can’t retake,
And things go sideways,
Hard to defend.
You’ll find your way,
You’ll find your way,
You’ll find your way,
Ebb and Flow.
You’ll find your way,
Ebb and Flow,
Ebb and Flow (repeat).
When the ones you’ve cared for are gone,
When choices you’ve made are wrong,
Find a way to make amends,
Hearts will mend.
You’ll find your way,
Ebb and Flow.

Avatar
02:20
|

So much stronger than you are,
Fiery red hair and a blazing star,
Fastest in the game by far,
Avatar, Avatar.
Won’t hesitate to knock you down,
If you choose to stick around,
She’s the biggest name in town,
Avatar, Avatar.
Running around this virtual reality
From strange creatures that are imaginary,
Level up to find new challenges,
We’re always assessing damages.
She doesn’t hesitate when it counts,
Lands the punch, he’s out for the count,
Knows all the secret hiding places,
With ease she navigates the spaces.
Collects her points along the way,
She knows how to make them pay
For their mistakes and miscalculations,
One step ‘head of the competition.
So much stronger than you are,
Fiery red hair and a blazing star,
Fastest in the game by far,
Avatar, Avatar.
Everyday’s a new game,
She’ll come out on top,
Never gonna stop.
Won’t hesitate to knock you down,
If you choose to stick around,
She’s the biggest name in town,
Avatar, Avatar.
So much stronger than you are,
Fiery red hair and a blazing star,
Fastest in the game by far,
Avatar, Avatar.

Dream
04:17
|
|||
In the morning, we’ll enjoy our reverie
Over honey biscuits and a cup of tea,
Dreaming of the finest things,
Find a way to live the dream.
Open up the window, let the sunlight in,
Promise that today we’ll find the strength within.
No excuses, not today,
Nothing standing in the way of dreams.
And in the morning, when the day starts to break,
We remember what we love most as we set out on our way.
Following your own course is so hard to do.
Sometimes everything you want slides out of view.
People try to help you out,
But they don’t know all about your dreams.
And in the morning, when the day starts to break,
We remember what we love most as we set out on our way to dream.
Ooh...to dream. Ooh....
In the evening when the daylight starts to fade
People travel home to quiet down the day and dream.
In the evening...

Drivin
02:27
|
|||
Drivin’ fast down the highway,
Like I’m on some kind of dare.
Inside those yellow lines I feel safe,
They guide me along to I don’t know where.
I know I’m goin’ somewhere,
Movin’ to the rhythm of my heart.
I know I’m still alive,
Feel the blood racing through my veins,
Drivin’ fast down the highway.
All the old signs have new meaning
When you’re searchin’ for some new frontier.
A melancholy song starts me dreamin’
Of some place far away from here.
I know I’m goin’ somewhere,
Movin’ to the rhythm of my heart.
I know I’m still alive,
Feel the blood racing through my veins,
Drivin’ fast down the highway.
I know I’m goin’ somewhere…
I know I’m still alive…
Drivin’ fast down the highway.
Drivin’ fast down the highway,
Nothing in the world to fear.
Inside those yellow lines I feel safe,
‘Cause I’m the one who gets to steer.
I know I’m goin’ somewhere,
Movin’ to the rhythm of my heart.
I know I’m still alive,
Feel the blood racing through my veins,
Drivin’ fast down the highway. (repeat)
Drivin’ fast down the highway,
Drivin; fast down the highway.

Climb
04:03
|
|||
Here I am,
Eyes cast down,
Always the shrinking violet.
You’re telling me
You want to be free.
You’re the sun beating down on me.
And I want to stand up tall,
Dare the world to notice me.
And I want to climb,
Spread my arms up to the sky,
Hold my head up to greet the daylight.
And I want to climb,
Embrace this new life that is mine.
Who knows what I might find?
And in between
These broken lines I speak,
There’s a song that I want to sing.
And I want to stand up tall,
Dare the world to notice me.
Through the years, you’ve come to be
The one who guides and comforts me.
You’ve been there to hold me up
When the world is draggin’ me down.
In all that time I’ve never learned
How to stand up on my own,
How to speak my mind openly.
And I want to climb...

Far Away From Home
03:40
|
|||
Far away from the memories,
Far away from laughter,
Far away from familiar,
Far away from home,
Far away from home.
Somewhere out in the fringes,
Somewhere I don’t recognize,
Somewhere people don’t know me,
Far away from home,
Far away from home.
Are you just passing through?
Are you passing through?
Are you just passing through?
Are you passing through.
Far away from home.
Find a way back through to
A place that’s frozen in time,
Where everything’s been tried and
Everyone is true,
Everyone is true.
Find a way to the middle,
Somewhere I feel centered,
Where every single branch is
Connected to the roots.
Find a way back home.
Are you just passing through?
Are you passing through?
Are you just passing through?
Are you passing through
Away from home.

Harmony
03:01
|
|||
Harmony, sound on sound our voices ring.
Come together now and sing.
Harmony, find a common chord and sing,
For harmony is what we need.
Harmony, every voice is unique,
But joined together there is strength.
Harmony, find a common chord and sing,
Oh, harmony is what we need.
When we sing we hear each other clear and strong.
When we sing, we find a way to get along.
Harmony, find a common chord and sing,
For together there is strength.
When we sing, we hear each other clear and strong.
We still get along.
Harmony, find a common chord and sing,
Sound on sound, our voices ring.
Harmony, find a common chord and sing,
For this is what we need.

Ashore
02:29
|
|||
Stretched across an inner tube,
Floating aimlessly about.
Basking in the warm sun,
As I try to block it out.
Got my sunblockers on.
The water’s always colder
In the center, where it’s deep,
So I paddle to the shallow water
And drift off to sleep.
Like a magnet I am drawn...
Ashore, washed up on the sand.
Ashore, Far from the place I began.
Ashore, where twenty pop up tents in hues of
Red and Blues, spoil my lake view.
Ashore, hot dogs cooking on the grill.
Ashore, before I head back to town,
I’ll wait for sundown.
One by one, the parent’s call
To children who are unaware
That soon the sun will be going down.
Sooner or later, the children come...
Ashore, hot dogs cooking on the grill.
Ashore, everyone will get their fill.
Ashore, before we head on back to town
We’ll wait for sundown.

In the Stillness
03:58
|
|||
In the time between the distractions,
When the only sounds I hear are in my head.
Following a train of thought that leads me
To a vision of what lies ahead.
In the empty space that surrounds me,
Everything is settled, everything is calm.
And with this time and space, I can find
My center, I can hear my song.
In the stillness we can see beyond,
Finding peace while others carry on.
In the stillness we can move beyond,
To a place where thoughts and dreams are one.
When life is full of crowded rooms,
And I can’t think above the noise.
I take some time for me,
I take some time.
In the stillness we can see beyond,
Finding peace while others carry on.
In the stillness we can move beyond,
To a place where thoughts and dreams are one.

Solitude
03:32
|
|||
Solitude, comes is like the ocean, like the tide.
Bringing peace, a respire from a worried state of mind.
In this state, things are somewhat undefined.
Flowing through are thoughts and sensations intertwined.
Even though, I am here in this moment of my life,
I can see an ocean that knows no sense of time.
(Insert the poem, The Ocean, by Nathaniel Hawthorne.)
The Ocean has its silent caves,
Deep, quiet, and alone;
Though there be fury on the waves,
Beneath them there is none.
The awful spirits of the deep
Hold their communion there;
And there are those for whom we weep,
The young, the bright, the fair.
Calmly the wearied seamen rest
Beneath their own blue sea.
The ocean solitudes are blest,
For there is purity.
The earth has guilt, the earth has care,
Unquiet are its graves;
But peaceful sleep is ever there,
Beneath the dark blue waves.

Sommer Saffron Fresno, California
Leslie Liles is the driving force and the voice behind the CA-based pop band, Sommer
Saffron.
Sommer Saffron's music combines elements of pop and electronica, with vocals that are sometimes airy and wistful, sometimes focused and energetic. The water is featured in several songs, and the music sounds almost meditative at times.
